A. 세상에 유일무이한 대상 (the sky, the sun, the moon 등)
세상에 오직 하나만 존재하거나 자연계 전체를 가리키는 명사 앞에는 정관사 the를 반드시 붙입니다.
The sky is blue and the sun is shining.
하늘은 푸르고 태양은 빛나고 있습니다.
The earth goes round the sun.
지구는 태양 주위를 돕니다.
The moon goes round the earth.
달은 지구 주위를 돕니다.
There are millions of stars in the sky.
하늘에는 수백만 개의 별이 있습니다.
I'd like to travel all over the world.
전 세계를 여행하고 싶습니다.
B. 위치, 매체, 관용적 표현 (the same, the radio)
위치(the top/bottom/left/right)나 '같은'(the same), 매체(the radio) 표현에 the를 씁니다.
We live in the same street. (not in same street)
우리는 같은 거리에 삽니다.
I listen to the radio a lot. (listen to the radio)
나는 라디오를 많이 듣습니다.

C. TV vs the radio / space vs the sky 예외 주의
TV를 시청할 때 watch TV(the 없음)이지만 라디오는 listen to the radio(the 있음)이며, 우주 공간 space엔 the가 붙지 않습니다.
I watch TV a lot. (not watch the TV)
나는 TV를 많이 봅니다.
There are millions of stars in space. (not in the space)
우주에는 수백만 개의 별이 있습니다.
Can you turn off the TV? (referring to the television set)
