수여동사(give, send, lend 등)의 두 가지 어순 패턴 (give somebody something vs give something to somebody)
수여동사 어순 패턴 비교
간접목적어(사람) 우선 어순과 직접목적어(사물) + to 사람 어순의 대조표입니다.
패턴 A (give + 사람 + 사물)
- •Give me that book.
- •I gave her some flowers.
패턴 B (give + 사물 + to 사람)
- •Give it to me.
- •I gave some flowers to her.
A. give + 사람(간접목적어) + 사물(직접목적어)
전치사 없이 [사람 + 사물] 순서로 씁니다.
Give me that book.
나에게 저 책을 주세요.
Tom gave his mother some flowers.
톰은 어머니께 꽃을 좀 드렸습니다.
I lent Paul some money.
나는 폴에게 돈을 좀 빌려주었습니다.
Can you show me your photos?
사진 좀 보여주실 수 있나요?
I sent Kate a postcard.
나는 케이트에게 엽서를 보냈습니다.
B. give + 사물(직접목적어) + to + 사람
사물을 먼저 쓰고 뒤에 [to + 사람]을 씁니다. 사물이 대명사(it/them)일 때 필수입니다.
Give that book to me.
저 책을 나에게 주세요.
Tom gave some flowers to his mother.
톰은 꽃을 어머니께 드렸습니다.
I lent my car to a friend.
나는 친구에게 내 차를 빌려주었습니다.
I sent a postcard to Kate.
나는 엽서를 케이트에게 보냈습니다.
C. it/them 대명사 목적어 규칙 (give it to me)
직접목적어가 it이나 them일 때는 [give it/them to person] 어순만 씁니다 (Give me it X).
Give it to me. (not Give me it)
그것을 나에게 주세요.
Here is the key. Give it to Paul.
여기 열쇠가 있습니다. 그것을 폴에게 주세요.
These photos are nice. Show them to your mother.
이 사진들 멋지네요. 어머니께 보여드리세요.
I have your book. I'll give it to you tomorrow.
