말하는 순간에 진행 중인 동작, 임시적인 상태 및 변화의 과정 표현 (Present Continuous)
현재진행형 타임라인 (Present Continuous)
말하는 시점(Now)을 중심으로 과거에 시작되어 현재 진행 중이며 미래까지 얼마간 지속되는 임시적 동작입니다.
A. Study this example situation:
말하는 순간(at the time of speaking)에 진행 중이고 아직 끝나지 않은 동작을 나타냅니다.
Sarah is in her car. She is on her way to work. She's driving to work. (= She is driving ...)
사라는 그녀의 차 안에 있습니다. 그녀는 직장으로 가는 길입니다. 그녀는 직장으로 운전해 가고 있습니다.
This means: she is driving now, at the time of speaking. The action is not finished.
이것은 그녀가 말하는 바로 지금 운전하고 있음을 의미합니다. 동작은 아직 끝나지 않았습니다.
B. I am doing something = I started doing it, and I haven't finished. I'm in the middle of doing it.
어떤 일을 시작해서 아직 끝내지 않고 진행 중인 상태를 나타냅니다.
Steve is talking to a friend on the phone. He says: "I'm reading a really good book right now. It's about a man who ..." Steve says "I'm reading ..." but he is not reading the book at the time of speaking. He means that he has started reading the book but has not finished it yet. He is in the middle of reading it.
스티브는 전화로 친구와 이야기하고 있습니다. 스티브는 "나 지금 진짜 좋은 책을 읽고 있어..." 라고 말합니다. (스티브는 말하는 그 순간 책을 들고 읽고 있지는 않지만 책을 읽기 시작해 중간 단계에 있습니다)

"Where's Mark?" "He's taking a shower."not He takes a shower
"마크 어디 있니?" "샤워하고 있어."
Let's go out now. It isn't raining anymore.not It doesn't rain
이제 나갈까. 비가 더 이상 안 오고 있어.
How's your new job? Are you enjoying it?
새 직장은 어때요? 재미있게 하고 있나요?
What's all that noise? What's going on? or What's happening?
저 소음은 다 뭐야? 무슨 일이야?
Kate wants to work in Italy, so she's learning Italian.but perhaps she isn't learning Italian at the time of speaking
케이트는 이탈리아에서 일하고 싶어 해서 이탈리아어를 배우고 있습니다.
Some friends of mine are building their own house. They hope to finish it next summer.
내 친구 몇 명이 자기 집을 직접 짓고 있습니다. 내년 여름에 완공하길 바라고 있죠.
C. You can use the present continuous with today, this week, this year, etc. (periods around now):
현재를 포함하는 주변 기간 동안 진행 중인 상황에 사용합니다.
A: You're working hard today.not You work hard today
A: 당신은 오늘 아주 열심히 일하고 있네요.
B: Yes, I have a lot to do.
B: 네, 할 일이 많아서요.
The company I work for isn't doing so well this year.
내가 일하는 회사는 올해 실적이 그리 좋지 않다.
D. We use the present continuous when we talk about a change that has started to happen.
시작되어 변화해 가고 있는 과정이나 추세에 대해 말할 때 사용합니다.

The population of the world is increasing very fast.not increases
세계 인구가 매우 빠르게 증가하고 있다.
At first I didn't like my job, but I'm starting to enjoy it now.not I start
